Sedapwok Food Review

I love Muslim food so much and would go to Geylang Serai Market specially for it. Glad to come across Sedapwok Halal at JEM foodcourt which serves really delicious food in great quality. At the same time, it is insanely affordable!

I had their Signature Shellout in pot (1-2pax for $28). The price is unbelievable given that there are crab, prawns, mussels, clams, stingray, sausage. I was really surprised to find Stingray inside the dish. So glad that it isn't frozen dory fish. The seafood is fresh and I really enjoy the crab roe. The seafood remains crispy despite being drenched in salted egg sauce.

I got the seafood in salted egg sauce. It is thick, rich and creamy. You can pick other flavours such as Sambal/ Black pepper or Spicy soup. There is Family Platter (Meat or Seafood). I chose Meat option which comes with fried fish fillet with sweet chili sauce, sambal squid, black pepper prawns, satay, tangy mango salad, clams and Sambal Fried rice.

The rice is so good that you could eat it on its own. It's very flavorful and comes with prawns as well. The black pepper and sambal sauce is pretty spicy and shiok. Really appreciate the addition of Mango salad as it is very refreshing. It is a nice contrast (sour and tangy) against the other dishes. I would hope for the satay to be more tender.

I would have to go back to try their Family Platter (Seafood) at $24.90 as it has stingray! There's prawn, squid, clams, fish fillet and salad as well. With such a variety of dishes at great quality, no wonder there was a queue on Friday Night.Save some stomach space for their durian desserts!

Sedapwok Halal uses 100% durian for their durian pulut ($8.90). The fresh durian fibre is pretty obvious. Even if you are too full to eat their sticky rice, the durian with their homemade coconut milk makes it a must try.

They are located at JEM Kuofu cookhouse level 5
