Papi's Taco

I have always love Mexican street food, but not so much of a Tacos fan until I tried the ones from Papi’s Tacos. It's a cozy taqueria and vibrant Mexican eatery located on Singapore’s bustling Seah Street. Reflecting the informal street dining culture of Central Mexico, Papi’s Tacos represents the long-awaited arrival of authentic, fuss-free Mexican fare in the Lion City.

Along with a convivial atmosphere and honest food steeped in tradition, diners are welcomed with heartfelt hospitality from a kitchen helmed by Head Chef and Partner, Mauricio Espinoza. He hails from the small town of Papalotla, Mexico and brings his heritage to an array of simple, yet mouthwatering tacos and native dishes.

Head to Papi’s Tacos for lunch, dinner, happy hour, a midday margarita, or late night taco. There's something for everyone - tacos, burritos, chips, guacamole and even margaritas!

We enjoyed the tacos platter so much. It’s perfect for 2 pax as you can enjoy 1 of each flavor. Out of the 4 flavors, I am surprised that I enjoyed Tacos de Chorizo the most. There’s grilled Chorizo, homemade chipotle salsa, red onion, coriander and guacamole on corn tortilla. The spices are so good! It goes so well with Lime Margarita. Love Shaken version so much (must try!)

I rarely have Tacos as I don’t usually find them too filling. But the generous portions at Papi's Taco kept us so full. Do try their Tacos de Camaron for well-grilled shrimps and an addictive smoked chipotle dressing, as well as Tacos de Chorizo for some full-bodied charred minced pork flanked with fresh salsa and pickled onions for balance.

For the fish lovers, opt for their grilled white dory, fresh red cabbage and smoked chipotle aioli on flour tortilla! It’s so tender and taste fresh. For meat lovers, their slow cooked beef brisket, homemade salsa verde, pickled red onion, coriander on corn tortilla is satisfying.

Mushroom Quesadilla and Esquites are awesome dishes to share with your friends. End the meal with a bang, with their strong tequila shots.
