57 Mala Xiang Guo (Food Review)

I love my spices and have Ma La Xiang Guo very often! 57 Mala Xiang Guo has an extensive menu for authentic Sichuan Specialty dishes! I am also quite surprised by the quality and taste of the food! You will be glad to know that their ingredients are fresh.

What I ordered for Ma La Xiang Guo: Seafood (Prawns, Squids), Meat (Beef, Lamb, Chicken, pork) and Vegetables (Kang Kong, Beancurd skin, Lotus Root, Potatoes, Tofu). Of course, maggi noodles is a must order! Glad to say that their ingredients are not overcooked and are coated with the flavorful spices thoroughly. I opted for less oil so the ingredients would not be swimming in a pool of oil. Their food is so delicious! The aromatic flavors of the dish is so satisfying. Their sauce is very flavorful and is made from an authentic Si Chuan recipe. Most importantly, it didn’t leave us thirsty after the meal. You can opt for a soup version of MLXG as I saw a couple of people ordering it and it looks really good.

I usually order MLXG only and skip the ala carte dishes. But it seems like 57 Mala Xiang Guo does a very good job in their Si Chuan Cuisine. There’s so many options such as Noodles (dry, soup), Ma Po Tofu and Meat dishes!

Chongqing Grilled Fish

You have to try their Chongqing Grilled fish. Despite being served piping hot throughout the meal, the fish is not overcooked. Thankfully, it doesn’t taste frozen and it’s fresh. The tender fish is fried prior to be drenched in the spicy marinate. Definitely a good dish to get your Sichuan fix! One customer ordered Sour & Spicy fish and I would love to try it as I love a good sour kick.

Beef noodles

I got their beef noodles (soup), which comes with Enoki Mushroom and Black Fungus. The noodles is relatively thin and has an al dente texture. Love the smoothness of the noodles and the richness of the soup.

I am so satisfied with my meal! Definitely have to go back to try their La Zi Ji (Mala spicy chicken) and fried noodles with beef.
